UrbanEbooks.COM has earned a reputation as a go to website for eBooks targeting the African American market. In a bid to make it easier for users to check out and up security, the website has forged a partnership with Apple Pay, a move set to allow iPad, Mac and iPhone users to purchase on the site without having to draw their credit cards.

With the new partnership, a customer making a purchase on the platform using Apple Pay doesn’t need to manually input credit card details or shipping address. Instead, the customers only need to tap the Apple Pay button then scan their fingerprint to authorize the app to provide all the necessary details needed for completing the checkout process.

Since its launch earlier this year, UrbanEbooks.COM has sold over 10,000 eBooks. Most of their books have long titles and are fairly priced – $3 or less. They’re specifically tailored to educate, empower and enlighten African American readers. The platform doesn’t, however, sell any urban or street fiction titles.

The website is based in Columbus, Ohio and is the brainchild of Dante Lee, an award winning entrepreneur. The company is arguably the first ever publishing firm to release at least 22 new books within the first six weeks after launch.

Besides targeting African Americans, the website says they also target other minority groups, including women of all ethnic backgrounds. All their books are sold in their digital forms and are currently only available through their website.

Unlike other urban books, which, of course, carry different contents and subjects, UrbanEbooks.COM focuses on publishing books that are resourceful to readers and are 100% meant to empower.

Some of the topics their eBooks cover are relationships, health, and funding information for women as well as scholarship directory for African-American students.

The 34-year-old Lee, who’s also the founder of the famous BlackNews.COM and BlackPR.COM, says, “The term ‘urban eBooks’ means different things to different people, and it is actually one of the fastest growing categories in the publishing industry. However, our urban eBooks are a bit different; they are 100% educational and empowering. We have decided to only create and publish books that are useful resources to our readers. We do not publish any urban fiction or street fiction titles!”

The company promises to release new titles every week.
