I wanna know what HL thinks about this guy. Instead of one word "c00n, Tom" responses explain why you feel those labels are deserved. Do you agree with dudes method? How effective do you think this is? If you disagree, what do you think would serve his cause better?

Lets get a real dialogue goin, brehs.

I think if his efforts net one person turning away from the Klan because they've realized their ignorance and gained a more reasonable insight into race, he's been a success.

:ehh:True... as long as he doesnt compromise himself along that path...Its one thing to sit down and have potato salad and bland hamburgers seasoned only with a dirty grill with his new" friends" and its quite another to help them terrorize people.

He's gotten like a couple dozen people to turn away over the course of his life.

Still, if it's just that couple dozen people, I'm not sure if devoting his life to it is worth it. I just don't think the Klan is that influential. If he turning those people away helped keep hundreds of other people from committing their lives to anti-Black racism, then maybe...but I doubt it.

At least it proves an example - even the biggest racists can give up the game with the right approach. I ain't against using his approach when the opportunity arises, hell I'd reccomend it, but I'd rather spend my time working towards the advancement of the Black community and any other distressed community than just hunting down White racists all over the country.

Eh some of these people in the video sound like white nationalists not necessarily supremacists. Some are interested in white causes because they feel disenfranchised and that guy is trying to understand why I guess :yeshrug:

It does make me want to watch the documentary though because I'm certainly skeptical of his efforts.

I don't think he's trying to make friends with them at all but maybe he's using it as a mechanism to understand the psyche of these people.

the black cat is my crown...
I really don't think the topic merits much more than this simple, concise answer. :francis:
i agree with you... however, since the thread starter asked for more than just calling this guy a c00n, i will explain why i feel this way....

the year is 2016.... it is not the year right after slavery ended.... it is not the year right after the civil rights act was enacted... we are decades beyond all of that... we are the most educated and technically advanced society in human history... we have the internet and its vast wealth of knowledge at our fingertips.... we have all of human history to look over and understand how we got to this point.... so therefore if a white person today remains ignorant to the humanity of black people then i can only draw one of two conclusions... 1) they are retarded.... or 2) they are willfully ignorant..

i'm tired of my people having to decade after decade beg and explain to white people why we are human and deserve to be treated as such... no white person has ever begged me to see their humanity, i just see it naturally... i assume if i wouldn't want to be treated in a negative fashion then neither would a white person... why is that so hard to understand? why do white people have such a hard time grasping that concept....? it's easy to me... it's easy to most non-white people... so i have to conclude it's willful ignorance....

in this day and age we are better off putting our energy in developing ourselves into a stronger and more prosperous people than to continue begging obtuse white people to like us.... being liked is not tangible... it cannot be handed down to the next generation... we better start putting our faith in economics and control of our resources and defending our kind.... begging white people is a dead end street......
