Black Money is the story of a former hoodlum turned politician who creates a cryptocurrency for the Black community with the help of his former street crew. Clay Wells “aka” C-Money is a Councilman for his city and is trying to create economic freedom with the launch of a cryptocurrency that he developed with his daughter, Ebony. The straight and narrow path, however, wasn’t the start in his life. Back in the day, he rolled with the infamous Take Money street crew who were involved in many illegal activities. During that time, C-Money set up a drug deal that went bad due to his absence. In fact, it left his crew member, Wolf, dead. And it sent another member, Ace, to jail. Throughout Ace’s incarceration, he is misled by crew member, Nucky, into thinking he was abandoned by Clay. During this time, Nucky is Clay’s campaign manager and is secretly jealous of Clay. He is conspiring to take Clay’s new initiative right from under him by pitting these former friends against each other. In the midst of dealing with foes within his camp, he is also dealing with foes outside as the realities of gentrification threaten to steal Clay’s community center from him. Everything comes to a head when Ace is released from prison and confronts Clay leading to the deaths of many and jeopardizing the future of his movement.
