:hubie:Im tryna tell y'all. I've been in the industry for about 6 years years. Everytime i speak to the field guys it's the same story. :hubie:Because people are indoctrined to going to college, There's skilled trades shortages everywhere, these unions are dying for more skilled folks. Went to a couple big conventions and labor shortage was the topic of several speeches.

Unions will start you off at $15/hr, give you free schooling to go one day a week, and then you journeyman in 4 years. All the jobsites i been to, the carpenters and electricians I spoke to all make $50/hr with crazy benefits.

And before y'all say it's hard on the body, you don't have to stay for long. Get in, make journeyman, and stack up before going to college. Have a cushy office job by 35 or so.

Brehs begging for student loan forgiveness, yeah ain't no telling when that shyt coming.:manny::francis: With a trade you don't gotta ask for shyt. I'd have been way further in life ahead had I started a trade right outta highschool.

Myself and my own.
You have to lay it out for them. I don't mean this as an insult but a lot of younger kids don't know a lot of about this or that career, especially in our community. There is a lot of opportunity out there and if many of them had the career guidance, a lot of them would be on top of shyt easily. This applies to a lot of careers too, not just trades.

The main reason that the trades are so lucrative now is because society en-masse told their kids to avoid the trades because they don't pay well. This created a surge of young people who went for the so called 'knowledge jobs' and left a huge demand for the trades, hence the pay going up. Once everybody gets back into the trades, the salaries will go down.

I'd say that the trades can be a good option for now, but you have to keep an eye on the future and make moves so that you aren't solely reliant on the trades, because once people start rushing back, your pockets could be hurting.

Why would I enter the trades I have a finance degree?

With that said my cousin is studying to be a plumber and looking to start his own food truck(he’s currently a cook at a restaurant) I’m quite proud of him
I mean if you pick a trade and have a home you'd save money in the long run because of stuff you'd be able to DIY instead of hiring someone, as well as making side money doing stuff for others if you don't want to go all in with it. Skills pay bills

I'm a HUGE fan of the trades. wish I did it. I also encouraged my kids to do it if they don't wanna go to college.

not only do u incur ZERO debt with the trades, but most times, they are paying you to learn your trade. it's a double win :win:

No offense breh, but you have no idea what you talking about. Trades always been paid good money. All you gotta do is talk to the older generation. If you were nothing but a laborer working on rooftops then yeah your pay was low. SKILLED trades always been paid top dollar, especially since unions

The main problem with trades is uneducated opinions and people wanting to party in college
