Or just go to the doctor regularly

Nah. It's like having a thermometer at home. And you should be checking your bp regularly, not just when you go to the doctor.

It's like people flossing before they go to the dentist or eating healthy before a check up or physical. It ain't doing you good then, you should be regularly doing it.

I'm not preaching though, I have one. I've used it, but I don't use it weekly or monthly.

Depend on the person. If you don't have an existing issue, and your health has changed...............

:yeshrug: I reckon I could see how one might not have one. I grew up in a house that always had them on deck. We used to play with them and the stethoscope and shyt. Even when we went to Walgreens or the grocery store they had the blood pressure machines and we'd play with those.

Nowadays kids have the doc mcstuffins play doctor set...since mom's was a nurse we had the shyt that actually worked.

When I moved out I took a blood pressure kit with me, I don't know why. I knew we had more than one and I was then and am now just used to having one on deck.

Mom's was a nurse so we always had these in the household growing up. I took one when I moved out at some point.

My moms a nurse too so there was always one in my household, I work at a hospital too now so I can always use one there. Most pharmacies have them like Walgreens and Rite-aid,

I'm 45. I have two of them. I'm not fukking around. My mother and middle brother take BP medicine. He's been taking them since he was 17. My dad got off his ass and started walking every day, 8 miles minimum, after his doc said that his kidneys weren't looking good. His BP dropped like a ton of bricks and his doc took him off the BP meds.

the internet
Two former coworkers of mine died last month after having strokes.

Also, one dude I follow on Youtube had a stroke in December...he's still in rehab trying to walk.

And another cat I follow on YT had a stroke & heart attack a few weeks ago...he seems to be alright now.

All of them are/were in their 40's.

None were/are overly :flabbynsick:.

I think a lot of this shyt has to do w/ stress.

This shyt is serious.

It's crazy cause I know some people who are fine "just living" and are waiting until they get some bad news of something bad happens to get on the right track.

An old coach told us this in 8th grade

"This life ain't a practice. This isn't warm-ups. You are in the 4th quarter and the clock is ticking. You don't have any time outs and this is your superbowl, your world series, your final game."

He went on about how some of us have the mentality that we can get it together later or that there will be a time when we need to try or try hard. And he stressed how one mistake can end our life.
