Never even thought about this. Every household should probably have one along with a smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector, and fire extinguisher.
Or just go to the doctor regularly
Depend on the person. If you don't have an existing issue, and your health has changed...............Nah. It's like having a thermometer at home. And you should be checking your bp regularly, not just when you go to the doctor.
It's like people flossing before they go to the dentist or eating healthy before a check up or physical. It ain't doing you good then, you should be regularly doing it.
I'm not preaching though, I have one. I've used it, but I don't use it weekly or monthly.

Mom's was a nurse so we always had these in the household growing up. I took one when I moved out at some point.
I'm 45. I have two of them. I'm not fukking around. My mother and middle brother take BP medicine. He's been taking them since he was 17. My dad got off his ass and started walking every day, 8 miles minimum, after his doc said that his kidneys weren't looking good. His BP dropped like a ton of bricks and his doc took him off the BP meds.
Two former coworkers of mine died last month after having strokes.
Also, one dude I follow on Youtube had a stroke in December...he's still in rehab trying to walk.
And another cat I follow on YT had a stroke & heart attack a few weeks ago...he seems to be alright now.
All of them are/were in their 40's.
None were/are overly .
I think a lot of this shyt has to do w/ stress.
