I agree with aome of what he says, but I also think he made the switch for his own political gain, not for the greater good. Because republicans are fukked up too. Republicans always bring up Lincoln as if Lincolns key goal was freeing slaves. It's pretty common knowledge that he didn't really want to free us, he just used us as another political pawn in a war.
I agree with him about welfare being about control, but then he goes on about our black men being locked up while some of the worst bills used for guidelines as locking is up were written by republicans.

sounds good in theory but at such a small fragment of the population no one would ever get elected from this party. a "minority" party might serve ...minorities...much much better. I do agree that dems have the minority vote on lock by default as the lesser of two evils.so instead of creating a black political party so either white dominant party would have to cater to black people and we can get some positive changes in our community he switches to the openly racist party.

If Blacks and Hispanics can get along and realize that we are in same boat then real strides can be made you are right about that. But people like this senator are polarizing just to hold on to there own power they do not care about us but claim to do and it is sick to see that. Also sick to see people not seeing the truth behind it.

Artur Davis was pretty shameless too.
Dude was a liberal and one of Obama's biggest supporters during the 2008 campaign. Then he wanted to become the first black Governor of a conservative southern state (Alabama), and suddenly became a blue dog (only black democrat to vote against Obamacare)
Black voters deserted him during the 2010 democratic primary and supported a white democrat instead.
Desperate, he chose to become a republican and a token puppet for cacs to use for a show of diversity (see last year's GOP convention).
