So there's apparently such a thing as "respectable" black face. I disagree but so far from what I've seen only non-black people think that for some reason, wonder why.
i watch this shyt with my mom because she is a democrat. so she is a big maher fan. i'm told her a. he was gonna make a blackface joke as soon as he started the bit and i was done watching it with her if he did... which he did.Wonder what he'd have to say about a person dressing up as a Hitler?
then i told her he makes fun of legit every race, but never touches anti-semetic comedy. it's all good to make fun of blacks, spics, rape, azns and trailer park whites... but i've been watching it with her for years and i've still never seen him crack that jew joke. only time he even hints at one is when he is self deprecating because he is a jew... so i guess that is OK in their book. dude used to be less transparent, but ever since they boycotted him because he insinuated all muslims were terrorists he's been really transparent with his racism.

I don't get how he condones blackface, a white woman dressing up like a character from a popular show isn't blackface. Is it insensitive? Maybe. But I don't think it classifies as racism. Racism is the belief that all members of each race possess characteristics or abilities specific to that race, especially so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race or races. American racism involves the systematic oppression of people of color, I don't see how her dressing up as Crazy Eyes stops me from getting money, education, or decent housing.
