C'mon, now. I like Dep's song a lot but Everyday Struggle is an all-time classic.
To be honest, i go back and forth a lot on this question. Very similar songs. Most times i think ES is better but i sometimes wonder if it's more of a bias cause biggie is a legend, and it's on a classic album and big passing away...

Biggies flow and delivery is undeniable and the beat has a sort of melancholy to it. On the other end the way G-Dep is painting the picture is very vivid. When I think back to my harder times the GDep one is often the one i think about. Maybe it's just me but i feel like it's more "relatable". But the ES beat speaks more to my soul.

But i respect your opinion on this and truth be told i sometimes agree. Just thought it might be an interesting question.

G Dep joint all day. (OG version without Faith on the hook though.) Sad/hilarious. 'bought my daughter a Nintendo now she calling it Dad.' 'talk blunts and boys and she jump for joy, shyt is twisted, opportunity knocked but I missed it, out in the park getting lifted.' :mjcry:

The Biggie joint is contrived and sappy.

When blends were all the rage, someone made a mixtape of Big mixed with Sinatra songs. The Everyday Struggle mash-up was excellent.

BIG has that flow/delivery that only he can do convincingly which is a cheat code. It's immaculate. But when you really pay attention to what he's saying, the song is about how stressful and treacherous the drug game is and having to juggle that with your own personal issues but the song still has a lot of bravado and ego. But the focus is the stress and how he's tired of it. And while he does talk about the despair, he still makes it sound like a cool story in some ways.

The GDep song when you pay attention to the lyrics is about the accumulation of bad luck, shytty circumstances and bad choices. It's about how much of a loser he feels like in all aspects of his life, the lost of pride, acknowledging that some of it is his fault, the stress, the humiliation, how emasculated he feels, how inadequate he feels, how sad he is for his loved ones and how he can't help them, the despair of it all... it's like a cry for help. To me that's a lot more relatable. He really digged deep...

Now that i think about it, maybe the better comparaison would have been Suicidal Thoughts...
