He's a right wing leaning centrist his entire life and He's sorrounded himself with likeminded individuals giving him daily doses
of terrible centrist advice. he still views the fascist maga party as a legitimate political party that's open to good faith bipartisanship after
everything we have witnessed over the last 6 years.

He's set in his ways and absolutely nothing can change that, not loss of democracy, not right wing open fascism, not loss of women's reproductive rights
Not extreme voter suppression, nothing.

I hope dems and left leaning independent take this as a cautionary tale moving forward.

Maybe reluctance to federally move in marijuana
Isn't there a bill to pass that currently stuck in the Senate?

As for Biden:
Can the President unilaterally legalize marijuana under federal law? In early November, Congressional researchers concluded that, while President Biden cannot directly remove marijuana from control under federal controlled substances laws, he could order executive agencies to consider either moving marijuana to a different schedule so that it could be legally possessed and sold or changing their enforcement approach. However, the report also concluded that the President has no power to change state law or compel the states to adopt federal policies.

He definitely is gun-shy about Executive Orders after Trump abused them, but I wouldn't call that right-leaning as much as I would call it perhaps an overly-cautious respect for the rule of law.

But he is not in favor of moving on it

Gotcha. Do you similarly view his inaction on packing the courts as further evidence that he is a right-wing-leaning centrist?

I feel like a true-blue progressive like Warren/AOC/Sanders would definitely have moved on these things, but basically everyone to the right of them wouldn't. To me, that's not a sign that Biden is a right-leaning centrist, but that progressive policy is becoming more extreme (not extreme with negative connotations, but extreme as in further away from the center than prior)

Not really

I dont see packing the courts as a left or right wing idea

It may at times come from one of the two sides but it is not inherently left or right wing

If the court was 6-3 to the left you might hear the right advocate for packing the courts as well

The inaction there is moreso just an unwillingness to make bold changes to the structure of the country

As with Marijuana, regardless of who it ultimately falls on, the President has some power to lead the discussion and is the head of their political party. He may not have the executive power to do certain things but that doesnt stop him from advocating certain things

Can you give a few recent examples of his "right wing leaning centrist tendencies"?
I'm butting your conversation but here's my examples
1. His views on legalizing weed is similar to the right.
2. He still hasn't done much to address SCOTUS overturning abortion.
3. He operated like Trump on covid leaving it up to the states to make decisions.
4. I would say he's business friendly but that would actually be both sides.

Correct

I am not surprised by it nor should anyone be. But it could be perceived as "centrist right leaning" :yeshrug:
True. America isn't a center left country though.People can be upset about that fact, but the only way to change it would be for capable center left politicians to run and win.

It is what it is though.
