African is a continent not a nation.

It's sad that a continent that holds most of the world's resources has to be invited to a group with the least amount of resources. Especially since that continent has 55 countries and 44 of them are Black.

the EU is also in G20 as its own entity in addition to some EU member states

Exactly. South Africa's economy is for the most part ran by the whites. Egypt, Ghana, Ethiopia, Nigeria, and Kenya should be in the G20 or G30 (or whatever).

Just inviting the African Union is just a cop out and is treating Africa like a country and not a continent. Yes, you can point to the EU, but 4 European countries make up the G20 and G7.

They trying to change the relationship with the African continent since China's Belt and Road Initiative is helping those nations out better than the USA's BS foreign policy. (not saying China is altruistic, but compared to the US and the West historically they are a not-racist Mother Theresa.)
