In terms of digital textbook availability and notetaking apps? With the iPad they have the keyboard but no Ms word or Onenote although they do have Evernote and note taker hd. And iBooks is not available for Mac but im certain there are ways to read digital texts on the MacBook. I own a personal computer I built two years ago if that helps with the decision process. I will be going back to get my masters in accounting and I also thought about getting a livescribe pen for math taking notes.

honestly both if possible but the computer takes precedence. I'd get a air/pro and a ipad 2.

a good chunk of people in my med school rocked both. i never saw the benefits until i did the same. its really great. i don't know why you would get the air though, that just seems silly to me, get a pro and put a SSD on it.

dropbox
notetaker hd

you set, won't need another notebook ever again with the iPad + a computer, since you have a pc you could probably just go with the iPad

i always recommend people to feel out their classes and environment before making decision like this though

Since I had a pc I figured getting an iPad made more sense. I can get a keyboard for some notetaking and use note taker hd or evernote and use Dropbox to download study materials and lecture notes from the professors. I also can use pencil and paper for math material and scan those notes into the computer and dropbox them to the iPad.

Also It would make more sense to hackintosh my pc in the future but only because of final cut studio and it would be more powerful than a MacBook pro.

Thanks for the input so far guys
