Bethesda vs Marvel

It’s crazy how Sony has now pretty much got Marvel IPs as exclusive on their system. Spider-Man 2 and Wolverine will be just as big as any Bethesda’s big exclusives.

Microsoft thought their Bethesda purchase would knock sony of their perch but their grip at the top is just as tight as ever

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm sure I read recently that Sony rights to certain Marvel characters ends in the near future, not sure if it extends to games or just the big screen.

the film rights to spider-man has nothing to do with the games and its the other way around... marvels rights to spider-man expire. Sony can retain the rights to spider-man (on screen) indefintiely for as long as they keep making movies (every 4 years i believe)

Sony has no actual rights to any of the marvel characters outside of that. They are licensing spider-man for the games and same with wolverine. Disney may be ok with Sony more so than anyone else just because spiderman ps4 made a bunch of money.
