Well I made a best PFs list in the Dirk thread.. and I can't sleep.. It was kind of fun... doing stats research on basketball-reference.com and reminiscing about different players... So I decided to do one for every position...

I'm 25 years old but I watched a very nice amount of 80s and 90s basketball so i can speak relatively accurately on those decades. Can't say the same for the 70s plus from what I have seen the more you go back the harder it is compare players because of style of play and of course racism (:pacspit:)

Anyway, here are my top SFs. If you see someone who didnt make and clearly should've I probably have them in a different position:

1. LeBron James
2. Larry Bird
3. Tracy McGrady - unlike other lists, I tried to make mine based on prime years not the ENTIRE career. Of course having just one great season isn't enough but 4-5 years of great play sure is. T-Mac of course was greatly hampered by injuries throughout his career but those prime years are :mindblown:. So thats why I have him so high up.
4. Julius Erving - His defense is underrated too, though I do feel he isn't as amazing as some people may think.
5. George Gervin - one of my favorite players of the early 80s
6. Carmelo Anthony

7. Bernard King
8. Adrian Dantley - one of my favorite all time players
9. Scottie Pippen - Probably gonna catch some heat for this, since Pip could do no wrong for some fans but I was never that high on him TBH. Toni Kukoc wasn't much worse :troll:
10. Paul Pierce
11. Dominique Wilkins - really fun to watch but did he really do anything besides score? Melo is 100 times more versatile.
12. Alex English - :wow: @ the SF scorers during the high-paced 80s.
13. Grant Hill - Even though like I said this is based on prime years but I was never impressed with Hill. When you are fed the ball on every possession literally your numbers should be big. Plus his passing wasn't as good as people seem to remember. No Lebron here.
14. Shawn Marion - well I made the PF list, 14 players since it's one of my favorite numbers so made this one 14 as well... Wasn't sure who to throw on so decided to give it to the matrix, sorry James Worthy.

Worthy had some great playoff games so he is remembered quite fondly but on a game to game basis, he wasn't that amazing and was greatly helped by playing along side magic and a bunch of other great offensive players. Worthy was a very good role player and I like him as a fan of the showtime lakers but I couldn't put quite put him on the list.

Just. Sit. Down.

Ray Allen won more championship than AI and Drexler combined. Iverson was a high volume shooting ball hog.

Allen vs Iverson:
Allen is a better shooter in every facet
Allen in his prime can guard 3 position
Iverson was very turnover prone.
Iverson fukked up the defense a lot because of all the risks he took
Iverson had trouble with teammates and coaching:aicmon:
Its still close tho, not sayin IVerson is trash but Allen was the better player.
Keep in mind that Iverson was only effective with the ball in his hands
Allen can fit in with any team, in his prime could be a top option for a 2nd round team in a strong conference or be the 3rd or 4th option for a championship team.

Iverson could only be the top option with the right team around him, a team full of all nba level defenders... Took them to the finals in probably the weakest conference we've had in NBA history.
