ladies what do y'all use for dry scalp? I used to rub olive oil in my hair, & it worked a little but I wasn't sure if it was safe to use. Are there any products y'all can recommend me, or should I go back to using olive oil?

I went to a beauty store and the girl that worked there suggested I buy Cantu shampoo and conditioner all in one, but it's terrible and isn't working. I got out the shower 3 hours ago and my scalp is dry and flakey again :mjcry:

Any suggestions would be appreciated

You'll have to try a few diff oils to figure out what works for you. There's coconut, argan, tea tree, castor, plenty to choose from.

Do you have dandruff? Try a stripping/clarifying shampoo and then put oil on.

Extra virgin coconut oil has antibacterial/microbial properties in it and is excellent for fighting dandruff.
Oil your scalp with it then cover your hair with a conditioning cap overnight. Wash & condition your hair with mineral oil free products. After styling/drying your hair lightly oil your scalp with EVCO until the next wash.

Since when is olive oil not safe, we eat that so whoever told you that is a big, far liar. Right? :patrice:

Also take it you're bald? If olive oil worked for you in the past, stick to it.

a dermatologist. you might have some deficiency you are not aware of causing the dry scalp. Essential oils and water wont be enough in that situation :yeshrug:

How do you determine which oil is best for your hair

Rinse your Apple cider vinegar

Use a hydrating shampoo and condition your hair for 15 mins.

Oil your scalp with 100% emu oil

A little goes a long way

I bought some head and shoulders extra strength shampoo & some shea butter leave in conditioner last week and i have seen amazing results.

Flakes are virtually gone. I do want to use some oil on my scalp as well though. I’ll look for emu oil.

Good! Do your research. Go on YouTube and read about its benefits as well. It's helped me with my hair and stretchmarks

I mix the neutrogena t gel and Paul Mitchell tea tree shampoo when I wash my scalp. I also add oils to my conditioner treatments. I do a pre shampoo with aloe Vera juice and oil. The aloe Vera juice feels great ion my scalp. I also add that to my conditioner.

If you have a lot of flakes, try exfoliating your scalp. Komaza care makes a great product called Pona which helped me with my itch and flakes.

How often do you wash your hair? Maybe increase your washes with a prepoo treatment, good anti dry scalp shampoo, condition with aloe Vera and oil (I used African hot six oil. Love it) maybe 1-2 times a week until your scalp heals.
