A little Background. The the Yamaha Dx7 was a Keyboard released in the mid 80's that virtually took over the radio by the late 80's . Many people call it the worse Keyboard synthesizers of all time. I think it had a fresh sound that is unique even today. In the right hands (mostly African American hands) the Dx7 sounded pretty damn awesome.

There were a lot of R&B songs in the 80's that were made almost entirely on the Dx7. I can recognize the Yamaha dx7 instantly because it's my favorite instrument. The Sega Genesis used a Yamaha Dx chip, so a lot people associate that sound with those Sega video games.

Here are the best songs made almost entirely or substantially with a Yamaha Dx7 (in my opinion).

Michael Jackson - You're just another Part of Me.

Al B. Sure - Night and Day

Cherrelle - I didn't mean to turn you on

Cherrelle - Saturday Love

Jody Watley - Looking for a new love

New Edition - If It isn't love

Ta Mara & The Seen - everybody dance
