Best of 2008/2009 WWE?

I had pretty much stopped watching during this time. I've heard and seen some stuff on the WWE compilation DVDs from that time and it seemed pretty decent at least match wise. I saw HBK/Jericho ladder match but I didn't witness all of the feud, HBK/JBL, Punk/Hardy, Jericho/Batista, Cena/Orton (I do kinda remember him punting Cener's dad).

What should I check out matches and PPVs?

Make sure you get the Michaels/Jericho feud from '08... Jericho's best feud and the change in his character. Real good shyt from beginning to end, over the course of 6 months.

Undertaker/Edge feud was good shyt too. Ran a lil' bit long, but it felt like a serious old-school type feud where it didn't just trail off but kept elevating til it was finished.

Punk/Hardy feud was good as well, and the beginning of Straight Edge Savior Punk.

The 2008 Royal Rumble is one PPV I can say was thoroughly good... one of the best Rumble matches of all time IMO.

2009 was one of the worst years of Raw, anything not HBK. Taker or Jericho related was horrible.

Jericho/Mysterio was a good rivalry in 2009, kinda brought back some prestige to the Intercontinental Title. In fact, SmackDown was the best show in 2009, had a really good roster (CM Punk, Edge, Chris Jericho, Taker, Jeff Hardy). That Punk/Hardy rivalry brought Punk up to Main Event/Star status.

Honestly WWE 2008 as a whole was a good year of wrestling shows. Some surprises, good storylines/feuds, good ppvs, you should definitely check out a lot of that year.

2009, the first few months were good, and most of the rest was terrible (I stopped watching that summer, checked in again at the end of 09). Check out HBK vs Taker at Mania and Randy Orton's Raw appearances from Jan-April from 2009. Orton vs HHH was some true fukkery that has only been rivaled since by Kane vs cena.
