Best movies/animes with skilled rogue/wanderer characters? i.e: The Book of Eli

Just a movie with a highly skilled rogue/wanderer who is just kind of minding their own business and walks into a tough situation/trouble finds them or they go out of their way to fight for a cause they believe in where they originally had no intention of getting involved. Some kind of plot like that.

I know it's not a movie but the Punisher short they put out a few years ago with Thomas Jane fits this perfectly.

STILL wish they'd go this direction for a movie. Hope he gets folded into the MCU eventually.

Great recommendations guys, have seen most of these.

How about any movies where the character isn't using a samurai sword though? Maybe uses great hand-to-hand or better yet daggers kinda like the ones Legolas uses?
