need inspiration for my next figgt brehs. going into this with a hurt right hand i dont know if its gonna hold up. havent been able to punch with it for the last 3 weeks of training. im going into this fight one handed basically.

my left hand been getting so much work tho its ridiculous. im confident i can win this fight off my jab alone.

lets get some figgts up where fighters dominate the fight with their lead hand. has to be orthodox too no sweet pea.

Just make sure you hook off the jab periodically.

Chambers got robbed against Adamek when he outboxed him with just one arm. I forgot which arm it was that was messed up, but Eddie had dude falling for feints and everything. :mjlol:

Like dude, you know he's not going throw that other punch, why you still flinching and falling for it. :what: shyt was down right comical and sad at times. :snoop:

The Sweet Science
Not to derail your thread but you spelled fight and fighters as figgt, figgters both in the post and in the thread tittle

If I were you id switch to southpaw and use the right just to throw flick jabs and the occasional body shots. That or your just gonna have to suck it up and deal with the pain from throwing rights.
Whats your exact injury anyway?

Breh you could always double jab your way in throw a non-power right (depends how bad your hand hurts) or feint one then pivot to the left and throw a left body and head hook. I would incorporate a lot of right handed feints, and even tap it out there once in a while.
I hate to say this but if you watch Berto VS Soto-Karass berto had the right IDEA once he found out he fukked his right arm up, he just couldn't execute

throw a jab in the mirror. each one looks the same. but just because all jabs look the same it doesnt mean they all are the same. pernell whitakers sparring partners said that he had four or five different kinds of jabs. he would throw the jab short just to show it to you. he would change up and add a little more depth on the jab and hit you when you thought he wasnt in range. all of the jabs look the same, but you never knew what jab pernell was going to give you. to beat whitakers jab you have to guess on it. its always hard to win a guessing game. if you know a little something about baseball will pick up on that concept right away.

the fighter i would say to really watch this in action is carlos monzon. went undefeated for 80+ fights, won almost every single round during that streak, jab comprised about 90% of the offensive output. a career of pure dominance with the jab.

i added this for your right hand, if you get closer to feeling like you can use it. i added this because, you need to use that jab to create your offense, and what that really means.

all jabs look the same but not all jabs are the same. you can put a little hesitation on the end of your jab, pause the glove in front of a fighters face and block his eyes, and drop a right hand when he moves around it to see

or you can put a little hesitation on the end of the jab, wait for the counter to come back on it, then counter it with the right hand

ward and rigo put that hesitation on the end of a lot of their jabs. its similar concept to putting a little hesitation on your dribble drive at the top of the key, just to see what the defense is giving you before you go in. its about rhythm and its about perception. its about trying to understand a fighter, not just trying to beat a fighter.

throw a lot of jabs, you will get back alot of slips. you created that effect, so use it. throw the jab out, let him slip it. drop the right hand into his slipping motion.

in my mind this is the most important counter to understand in boxing: throw a jab you will get back a lot of counter jabs. thats a good thing you want him jabbing with you. if you can get him jabbing with you, youre in control of his punches. throw a jab, get him to throw the jab back on it, counter it with the right hand over the top

land some of these, he will start to fear your jab, and wont try to counter it as much. now you opened up your jab to have more free reign. a fighter who fears your jab, just gave you the go ahead to go and win a lot of rounds with it. you just made it an easier fight to control with just the jab. build a career on that, you can build a good career.
