Rank:
Wale - Attention Deficit
Drake - Thank Me Later
Big Sean - Finally Famous
J. Cole - Cole World: The Sideline Story
Kendrick Lamar - good kid, m.A.A.d. city
Meek Mill - Dreams & Nightmares

Which of these artists came through with the best debut hip-hop album? All 6 of them have been hailed as the "savior of hip-hop" or the "next big thing" but who actually delivered with material that stomped out all his peers in pursuit of legendary status? These leaders of the new school have enjoyed both commercial and critical success to some degree, and that's the criteria which I measured by.

MMG, Young Money, GOOD Music, RocNation, Aftermath

* I was thinking of including Wale's Ambition due to his MMG re-christening and re-definition but that would fukk everything up

For me, the clear choice is

Kendrick neglected to turn over his identity for label demands and chart positions and that's what ultimately gave him the best debut album in a long time, not to mention he just has better musical prowess than his competition :manny:

For me, it goes:

1. good kid, m.A.A.d. city
2. Cole World: The Sideline Story
3. Dreams & Nightmares
4. Finally Famous
5. Thank Me Later
6. Attention Deficit

I really didn't fukk with Finally Famous the album. I thought the 3rd mixtape was flames but the album was so weak to me.

For me it goes:

1. Good kid, m.A.A.d. city
2. Cole World: The Sideline Story
3. Thank Me Later
4. Attention Deficit
5. Dreams & Nightmares
6. Finally Famous

I think it's a bit early to fully rate Meek. That shyt dropped TODAY on iTunes ffs. It's only been two weeks for Kendrick but to be honest it only took two hours to realise how dope that body of work really is. Thank Me Later was a good collection of singles for me but as a body of work I thought it lacked something. He found that in Take Care. Despite me saying that, it's still far better than any of the rest. Attention Deficit was dope when it dropped but I honestly don't find myself playing any cuts from that album today.

J. Cole is my dude. Nice Watch still gets pulled up when I hear it. Gods Gift still leaves a nikka like :wow: shyt was dope. Not GKMC dope, but dope nonetheless.

Section.80 is Kendrick's debut album  peaked at 113 on the Billboard 200.

Doesnt matter whether its GKMC, Section 80, or Overly Dedicated... Pick any of those albums and it's a better debut than the rest of the rappers on the list :win:

Kendrick is literally the only rapper out of the 'internet age' to actually deliver on the expectations people had. Think about that for a second:obama:
