breh they get a 30% discount....shyt 600 off a 2 thousanf dollar laptop, yeah breh i neeeds that.you seriously asking this? And I doubt they get heavy discounts on shyt like computers, if at all.
word, i'm hearing different, 30% on shyt...employees get cost +5%
So if best buy buys something for $40 and sells it for $70, you buy it for $40 +5%.
Tablets, PCs, laptops are exempt from this
Not sure about video cards though
breh no, lol, my ex used to work there and I vaguely remember being disappointed I couldn't cop anything meaningful. Most I got thru her was a case for my MacBook lmao. I'd assume most retail spots have these type of exemptions because the margins are already so thin on electronics.breh they get a 30% discount....shyt 600 off a 2 thousanf dollar laptop, yeah breh i neeeds that.

They don't even make 30% profit on laptops
they make about 8% profit on laptops
good to know.Worked for BB for 6 years before moving into Law. Laptops never had markups like that. It was usually a negative margin item (stores would get back end funded though by the manufacturer if they sold alot of a specific model)
Money was made on the accessories ie laptop bags that has like 75% margin. 80 dollar cases were like 15 Bux on cost.
Discount at the time was cost plus 10 percent but laptops you were better off buying on sale.
