For me the OG "Sweet sweetbacks bad ass song." A lot of what followed didn't really understand Van Peebles' message, they just copied the style.
Have you seen Baadassss: how to get the man's foot outta your ass. Definitely worth a watch, documentary/homage to his pops and the original film Sweet Sweetback

Don’t consider films like Cornbread and Earl & Cooley High to be blaxploitation films. They were just great coming of age tales.

Man I gotta see Truck Tuner. Curren$y did a mixtape based off Havard Blue, I had no idea where he came from till I looked it up a while back.

Why do ppl bring up Black Ceaser without bringing up "Hell up in Harlem" which is the sequel...and has one of the best " the day the nikkas took over" scenes ever....when they come up out the water and kill the whole mafia ..."who made up that bullshyt that black ppl can't swim" ...was the line....but if I see one I have to see the other

Hell Up In Harlem defied all kinds of logic to bring Tommy back from the dead :mjlol:

the entire movie is ridiculous :mjlol: but it's a blassic. nikkas was :feedme:after Black Caesar.

Above the fray.
Superfly had a subconscious message I cant co sign.

In the end he needed 2 white hit men in order to be free...The message sent to the world is A Blackman needs white people in order to be free.
nah, he was indirectly working for corrupt police chief.....he got himself free by out thinking them....

Used the existing system of crime syndicate and dirty cops to free himself.

"Just one, one hair on my gorgeous head gets messed up and your family gets killed..........can you dig it?"

punks the shyt out of the cops and drives off with sheila frazier

he won

The trailer for Hell Up In Harlem gives too much of the film away, but it's better than most entire films.

The I in Team
3 film series, the legend of ****** Charlie. Cool black western with Fred Williamson the gawd.

Really looking forward to finishing it out. Fred is that dude in the flicks I seen with him thus far. Unapologetically Black :blessed:

As a side note anybody got a link for the Legend of ****** Charley? Can’t seem to find a stream. Drop it here or pm if you do.
