i'm a get tomatoes thrown at me but I never got passed the 3rd episode in the original Beserk Anime
it's probably a great anime, it just never pulled me in (one day in the future i'll go back and watch the whole thing)
and Thrones is probably one of the best shows to ever grace the small screen, Its tied with Westworld imo
As much as I loved The Wire, Sopranos etc, they all can only be mentioned after you list those two first.

Its pretty close from a story standpoint but Game of Thrones wins off the strength of its characters.

We got multiple characters to cheer for and hate on in GOT, dosnt Berserk have only one hero
IMO the Golden Age arc with a few adjustments could go toe to toe with GOT.
Give it a high budget. Hire a pretty boy Rico Suave type actor
to play Griffith and make him the protagonist.

Griffith is basically a combo of Tywin and Littlefinger that can fight.
Nobody was stopping his come up till Guts had him in his feelings.
GoT is a better story.
