Bernie Sanders is the guy who's been on the police force for 30 years, but isn't a complete piece of shxt. Hes knows the force is corrupt and says things they don't like from time to time, but he likes the power and influence. He knows how his bread is buttered but he stays in the cesspool. He's the guy the corrupt police force sends to the neighborhood for "roundtable discussions" to make the citizens feel like someone understands them.

He missed his moment unfortunately. He is on the right side of most issues but he wasn't willing to be a heel in mainstream media for a bit in order to force the Dems hand. He could have really changed the trajectory of the country if he stood up to Hillary and the Dem party in 2016. He had all the momentum and energy on the left and he just dropped out and endorsed Hillary instead of fighting.
