I refuse to fukk with c00ns.

GZ followed the boy because he felt empowered by his gun.
Walk around without a gun as a black man and you are asking for it.

How can someone who has accomplished so much be such a c00n??

HE STALKED A 17 YEAR OLD CHILD AND MURDERED HIM

Even if he had a tazer, he'd still be tazing and attacking a 17 year old boy who was minding his own business coming back from the store with some skittles and an ice tea!

yeah a tazer definitely would have been more appropriate for the scenario because it stops the beating your taking without killing the aggressor who while in the wrong for being the aggressor and attacking Zimmerman i don't believe he deserved a death sentence

Would GZ escalated the situation if Trayvon was armed? :rudy:

...Dr. Carson said. “I’m thinking there must be something we could learn from this situation in addition to not creating a big racial divide.”
Dr. Carson said this may have been avoided if Zimmerman had been carrying a taser instead of a gun...

Okay, I disagree with Dr. Carson. First off, I am for 'Stand your ground', when it comes to protecting yourself when you are attacked.
The problem with this situation is that George Zimmerman saw a suspicious person, but wasn't 100% certain he was up to no good. So he calls the cops. Great. 911 operator tells him not to follow. The problem is that Zimmerman did not listen to the 911 operator's advice. This advice was for Zimmerman's own safety.
Regardless of whether Zimmerman had a tazer, a knife, aikido training, or in this case, a gun, Zimmerman put himself into a possibly dangerous situation. As in, he confronted a person who he did not know what his capabilities were. Basically, Zimmerman sized up Martin and thought it would be a non-issue to follow and confront Martin.
The lesson to learn in the situation is to be "situationally aware". Don't step into a dangerous situation on purpose even if you are armed.

Carson was my hero.... When I was in the sixth grade, during Black History month, I went to school and got on stage in full surgical gear as Dr. Ben Carson. Everyone else was either a singer, an athlete, or Dr. King. (My twin was George Washington Carver though.) I remember meeting him in D.C. when I was a freshmen in SNMA. I had stars in my eyes.

I might as well had just been looking up to star athletes.

I'm not saying I expected Dr. Carson to be pro-black or anything like that.... even if he was all on MSNBC talking to Sharpton I would still be disappointed.

He's purposely become a part of the media "cash in on directing the narrative" machine that does a lot of talking but in the end does more harm than good. Why couldn't he just keep his reputation above the flames?

As I'm getting older I'm starting to see how much of a detriment some of these older "leaders" can be

It's like...we look up to them as kids but when we get older, we see just how fukking flawed they can be. It's almost like they were broken by the white people in their time and they're so damaged that they can't see how their views parrot those of a racist white man.

You got people out there saying we shouldn't wear hoodies and sneakers. Really? That's what dudes were hosed down for? That's why so many brothers were assassinated in the 60's? So that I can get the same rights as a white kid....but with a twist? Cause you can't upset these white folks ooohhhhhhh noooooooooooooooo we riling them up with our provocative music (you know art...that stuff that's supposed to be expression of ones own views and ideas) and questionable clothing.

Nobody saying your pants gotta sag off your ass as you bump Young Jeezy in your unregistered BMW but it begs the question, what the fukk are we really fighting for when white kids are allowed to dress however they want or listen to whatever music they want and white people frown at them but don't perceive them as a threat or something that needs to be destroyed?

And stop using gun violence or Chicago as a counterpoint you clueless fukks....THEY are as much to blame for the "hood" as "we" are! And by bowing our heads and taking the blame like they want us to, we absolve them of all responsibility for pumping harmful drugs into the community (not marijuana, stupid) and this...PERVERSE obsession with guns that allows fat disgusting cowardly craven slobs to feel empowered enough to play super hero and shoot 17 year olds minding their own business.

If he had a tazer and had used it while Trayvon had hands on him, he would have tazed himself as well.

i'm fairly certain that's not true.
The electricity travels from one prong to the other. So unless he had a prong in him and a prong in trayvon he'd have been alright.
