Being an "independent" voter means jack shyt and does not make you a person above it all. In the last 20 years at least the two parties have been for the most part completely different from each other. Every time you vote for either side you are voting for pretty different parties that every chance they get try to undo what the previous party has done, so what is the point of switching or either considering the other side. Even if you vote for a "centrist" politician on either side, they will almost always vote down the party line.

So pick a party (There are other parties than the Democrats and Republicans) that fits most of your values and be done with it. Being a Independent or undecided in these times does not speak well of you.

Independent voters aren't 'undecided'. Most independents lean right or left rather than being centrist.

The difference is they usually pledge loyalty to POLICY issues rather than play my team your team. If a republican had the balls to push for M4A or UBI they'd have a lot of independant voters, even ones who typically lean toward democrats ready and willing to forgo the childish red/blue dichotomy.

- I started voting third party and down ballot for candidates that support my policies after Obama's first term.
- I support the movement for a people's party and plan on helping to build the infrastructure for the party in my city.
- People who don't give a fukk about electoral politics are completely justified in their feelings. The biggest voting bloc is non voters, and they aren't all privileged, dishonest or lazy. Many feel discouraged, discarded and lack confidence in this system's ability to make substantial change in their every day lives.

Now that we have that deflection behind us, tell me how these parties are completely different. When it comes to corruption, greed, war, maintaining white supremacy they are pretty bi-partisan. Different methodology and rhetoric toward reaching the same goal.
