This most recent arc started off stupid boring and slow.

Actually, the last two arcs have been really draggy. It's not "worst of Bleach and Naruto" level, or even really bad, but there's a lot in the plot that didn't really need to be there.

With that said, there are some great moments in the story arcs to follow, like today's chapter, for instance.

Are they still on the arc with the samurai dude that was cut into multiple pieces? That shyt was the worst. One thin about Bleach is that even when it's terrible it's at least entertaining.

The first two arcs of the new world have been a bit slow but you can see developments that are going to loom large. One has to do with the rules of the whole OP universe and another major development could lead the strawhats and some unlikely friends into a major battle (hopefully that's not too much info)...I'm thinking this arc will lead into a very major arc with some heavy repercussions. So you can probably do with holding off until this arc concludes (since it's gone pretty slow who knows) and then catch up to a place where ish gets real.

This right here...these 2 arcs are setting up some big sh!t, its pretty much the Straw Hats being out of the loop after being gone for 2 years, and Luffy just challenged one of the Yonko, and it seems we are finally getting into the explanation of devil fruits, how they work, how they were created, and one of the ancient weapons being discovered...yeah, the OP universe is opening up for sure, major things are happening lol

you have been out of the scene since the crew got separated tho? do a little catching up, Luffy breaking into Impel Down and then the war at Marineford with Whitebeard...you gotta see/read those, it is basically Luffy's desperate attempt to save his his brother who was captured and set to be assassinated...its all Luffy fighting and struggling for 2 arcs kinda. The crew is still totally mia during this.

Yeah, still chugging along. This week's chapter was the t*ts, though.

I'm a little hazy on the details since I haven't reread the recent arcs, but are you talking about

Poseidon and the poneglyph on Fishman Island

or are you talking about

Vegapunk's manufactured Devil Fruits

Yeah it's still quality but right now it's in one of those transition periods. People calling this slow I would hate to see what the opinions would be during the Jaya/Skypia/Davy Back Fight times

The second spoiler. The first is major, but it hasn't been explained enough to really acknowledge yet. I think the second was MAJOR and showed enough to make our own assumptions. I think it'll be a lot longer before we get more about the poneglyph and the "weapon"

Yeah, but it's gotten better, there have been some interesting developments.

-they put him back together and he's actually a pretty good fighter
-turns out Law is a Shichibukai and was the one who cut him into pieces
-Straw Hats form an alliance with Law to take down a Yonkou
-Looks like this arc is leading toward a DoFlamingo arc - some of the villains in this arc are working for him
