In this lighthearted coming-of-spirit tale, Lance Barton (Rock) is tragically killed before his time, and is subsequently placed inside the body of a wealthy elderly white man. Lance encounters a beautiful black woman, Sontee Jenkins (Regina King) who initially despises Lance due to the misdeeds of who she perceives to be Charles Wellington, the elderly white man whose body Lance is piloting.
Lance, handicapped by his old decrepit white body, attempts to woo Ms Jenkins to no avail, as she spurns his advances at every turn. Ms Jenkins' heart soon melts, as she finds her ivory suitor has a heart of gold, and he got money.
"Lance (as Mr Wellington) enjoys a tune orchestrated by Dr Dre"
Many racial faux pas occur throughout the film, particularly one scene in which Lance, oblivious to the fact that he appears white to all onlookers including Sontee, launches into a verse of the Ruff Ryders Anthem that is fully laden with gratuitous use of the "N" word
This film proves that love and character transcends looks and race.
