So, I import a track into Audacity, rhyme with the mic, but it sounds like it needs to be mixed (I mean, it sounds kind of off already as its just a freestyle), but I was wondering what's the easiest way for someone that has no know-how on the mixing, beat-making, instrumental, DAWs aspect of the game, to meld and mold together a track so that it sounds like that beat and those bars are supposed to be together.

P.S.- I know this is kind of too basic for these boards so feel free to PM me.

If you in NYC, let me know too.

This shyt has always been my issue. The vocals never sound one with the song. It'll have an amateur sound to it. :to:

Audacity has shytty sound quality first off

Professional vocals are mixed by dudes with so many tricks up their sleeves from years of research and experience. Unless you pick up a book or pay money your shyts not gonna sound professional.

there's not really an "easy" way. i mean, you can play with the levels...and you can make some fairly wide and small cuts to the beat with an eq (without thinning it out much) and make some small boosts in those same areas on the vocals so that your voice has some room to stand out yet sorta sound like they're "in" the track. but really, there's so much more to it you'll have to do some reading if you're gonna do it yourself...or if you pay for a studio session, sit with the engineer and pick his brain while your there.

a good mic is essential though.
