Hamels just got 140 for being the #3 starter on the team lol

Football has the shortest life span and you get paid the least. Only 16 games

I hate when casual fans make threads

Hes the #3 only because well he has two of the top 10 pitchers in all of baseball in front him

Career 3.38 ERA
Career 1.14 WHIP
8.5 K/9 inning
Constantly near 200 IP every year
Is 28 years old

Matt Cain on the other hand has worse stats except a slightly better ERA. Hamels is a lefty and has some good stuff that isnt dependent on speed.

Hes not worth 23mm a year but its a 6 year contract and baseball is booming :win:

I really dont think MLB's system is sustainable. I can see them going bankrupt one day. They need a cap.

Baseball is very profitable right now. Local TV deals are incredible...

I'd say baseball is a players league along with basketball while hockey and
football are owner leagues

they made it this far.

If they ever get the attendance up at random games in the middle of season, i think they could overtake teh NFL in revenue.

I didnt say 2morrow or next wk. But it just seems like MLB is living off a bubble right now. Networks throwing money at teams. Cant believe the money the Angels got from Fox. But eventually that bubble will burst. Half of the league has no chance of winning. Eventually u would think fans will tire of that. Local ratings will drop like national ratings. And I wonder what the league will become.

:childplease: NFL can just drive up prices on networks. NFL is the best show on tv.

MLB depends too much on selling tix at day gms.
