I understand a joke here and there, and I don't think anyone minds threads being created, but the problem comes from deliberate thread derailing.

True, but not everyone's notion of a 5 star thread can be accomodated, just like anywhere else in life. The question is where to draw the line. I don't check here often, so I don't know how often people like Slaimon post and derail threads, but if it really is that bad, then some action should be taken. I had no problem with him being banned on the other site, where he was posting the same thing in literally every thread on the forums.

I'll put it like this, the thread gets derailed because you respond to those people. I don't know how else to say it. I don't respond to Slaimon, no one else on these boards do. It's only on HL that people do this. So there's some looking in the mirror to do. Slaimon is nowhere near Tom saying incendiary stuff that would get him banned on any board on here. He's not that Angel on a Rag purposely saying things that cause beef. When I was in college there were constantly people preaching in the Diag. Some kids would engage them and others would just walk by. You guys are those kids that engage them and let them get to you.

It's remarkable. I never once responded to him on (where he was blatantly spamming) and haven't here. I don't get it. That's my personal opinion. It's especially a bit hypocritical when people you guys like consistently troll too but they troll in a manner conducive to what you guys actually agree with. Again, my personal opinion.

(1) But as far as the larger complaint about these guys go, it's not hard to use the report abuse button which got one guy who was starting beefs on here a warning yesterday. So just because I don't say something, I would not assume that there has not been a formal warning to said poster. But use the button. Only one person did yesterday. I don't even see these posts you guys are upset about half the time and apparently the other mods who look at the board when I'm not around don't either.

(2) Understanding that I don't own the board, your input is taken into the consideration in all decisions and your collective opinions may very well outweigh mine. I can say that the issue of some of these guys have been brought up and the general feeling is that most of them are harmless and feed off the attention you give them. I'll bring it up again, and see what the decision is.
