I always found it weird that it was "okay" to name your team after the natives (using a slur at that) and have caricature pictures of said peoples as your logo.
Imagine if teams had any of these as their logo:

So, is it? When I was growing up everyone wanted to play for the Indians. They had a cool logo and the Major League movies were out. In school we were taught about how strong the Indians were and about their power. So basically we were only taught good things about them so I have a positive association with the word.

Israeli schools? You've been on your Kritic shyt hard lately. Get over it already. I went to Israel once in my life and that was last week for a wedding. Oh, and the country I would call my motherland is Russia, not Israel. So unless you want some polonium with your morning coffee, stfu already and quit simpin for every disenfranchised group while you ignore the most disenfranchised group throughout history.
My comments were about the Indian name and not the trail of tears comment. To answer your question, no, off the top of my head I did not know what the trail of tears was. When I googled it, I remembered some of it that was taught to me back in elementary school.
For the record, I don't think the Indian name is a slur what so ever. The Redskins name is borderline but its a little bit over the fence into the offensive side IMO.

The Indian name isn't a slur, it's just a historical fukk up passed on by Whites to the Natives. The logo, Redskins name, and other associated shyt is racist though. No doubt about that.
I took issue with the banner because the Trail of Tears is an atrocity at the highest level. It's an event that punctuates hundreds of years of a holocaust of the natives here. The fact that these kids/school made a banner like this, knowing full well what they are insinuating, is sickening. Most pathetic part is that no one is going to give a fukk because the Natives throughout the Americas are a people that are openly mocked without any repercussion.

Fair enough. You've used the Israel line numerous times so I took it as an attack. I do agree with you on the trail of tears comment. I missed it in the OP and granted I didn't remember it either but it is def racist and an atrocity.
