I gotta go with The Pacific, although it had the love story in it.

probably more action in Band of Brothers, and I liked the paratrooper angle

Basilone went ham tho :whew:

the marines conditions were worse, fighting on little ass islands

they were pissing in corpses mouths and taking gold out the japanese mouths.

I didnt find The Pacific that interesting. I think alot of it has to deal with the "romance" around Europe during WWII. Especially since that unit was together the whole time, from jump school, to DDAY,to The Black Forrest, etc etc.

what makes it so much better?

The pacific focused mainly on three guys, two of which i didn't find very interesting. i like basilone but his plot was really just 3 episodes of war. Whereas BOB was focused on an entire squad full of characters i liked. plus BOB went to different locations that were varied in environment and more interesting. the pacific was jungle to jungle from beginning to end.

i didn't mind the jungle locations.they ran out of water on a 6 mile by 2 mile island in 110 degree weather and had to cross an exposed air strip :ld:

the japanese with the surprise raids and blowing themselves up. jumping in the foxholes and shyt. they had way more heart/loyalty than the germans..

i'm not saying the story wasnt more compelling but cinamatically its better to be in europe than in some island nobody cares about. but mostly i liked how BOB had a diffent star each episode. one episode focused on blithe another on the combat medic etc. Pacific was just leckie and sledge.

I liked The Pacific, but when I remembered BOB as I watched it I couldn't help but be disappointed, because BOB set the bar so high. I missed the interconnected stories of the troupe,.. man, you felt sick when you lost another man in the unit in BOB, The Pacific had some great individuals but it just wasn't quite there.
