Im bout to cop a new macbook pro. And im seeing this Retina shyt :leostare:

Im mainly using this shyt for production purposes only, I could give a fukk if my screen is in HD or not. Besides that, is their any signifcant differences between the two?

Besides that 300 dollar increase :usure: ,

Is there any point in going for the Retina or is it just Apple marketing and product positioning all over again :upsetfavre:

Wait until June.

The entire MBP line is going to go Retina.

A lot more than that.

The MBP Retina has no optical drive. No ethernet port. No Firewire. No servicable parts inside. Everything is soldered on. It's thinner. Lighter. IPS display. More dedicated video ram (obviously for the retina). Configurable to up to 16gb of RAM. SSD HD only.

That's about it.

my 2012 MBP is rockin with no problems with production. I upgraded to a 256 SSD (for system)as my main drive, and removed my optical drive and placed my old 500gb in there(for storage) then I upgraded my RAM to 16gb (yes it works) and saved $100's then if I would have upgraded through apple.

just those two upgrades alone were only $300
