Haven't peeped mother yet. But get out is definitely in a spot. That's all I can speak on right now
Nobody has unless you're at a festival. They picked an awful release date for it, it might flop/get killed by IT's 2nd week. Only the cinephiles really know about it, as the trailer just launched like 3 weeks ago.

But let's be honest, we all know Dunkirk is gonna clean up :smugnolan:

You really think the people behind mother are worried about box office tho?

:what: what does this even mean breh? It's a business and his last two movies were box office successes (noah was an ass movie though)

Paramount could use a hit too they've had a bad year.

Everything about Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri looks so good, I haven't been this hyped since Nightcrawler.

I feel like this one is aiming purely for the awards crowd/movie geek crowd based how they've marketed it. I don't see it as something they're going for a home run with. I could be wrong but they've barely pushed it

Mother seems like a hipster horror film. J Law wants to get that second oscar but can the critics wrap their head around the plot.

These type of movies always do well, but I want to see some GGs for this, it looks great.

Well she is coming off Passengers ( and two critically panned movies before that) so she could use a win too. I don't see it being aimed at the awards crowd since they haven't shown a horror movie love in almost 30 years iirc

Depends on who you ask. A lot of horror geeks consider Black Swan to be horror. And if anyone can get them to consider horror, its Darren.

I never thought about Black Swan as horror per se, but I do love that flick. I hear mother! is super polarizing so I can't wait to see it

It's a fancy dressed up horror flick like Fatal Attraction or Silence of the Lambs
IMDB classifies it as a drama, thriller but I could definitely see the argument. But the horror geeks irk me trying to say everything is not horror. Brehs on here said IT was not horror so I'm just at a loss sometimes

I don't give a damn what IMDB classifies it as lol. Again, the term thriller was invented because horror was considered low brow and not good enough to win awards or be respected. A horror movie is a horror movie. Horror geeks in today quibble over whether something is horror based on if it scares them which is the dumbest shyt ever
