Was having this discussion with a co-worker today. Infinity War was the last major box office cliffhanger where the good guys didn't win, and followed up with EG and smashed records worldwide. I am trying to remember before those titles did we have a major (Non Marvel) movie to leave us hanging, bad guy wins and then kill it with follow-up?
