Chris Jericho, Steve Austin and Lance Storm spoke about Paul Heyman faking a heart attack on Raw this week. Here is what the had to say…

Steve Austin: "I believe in pushing the envelope in an aggressive fashion. But when a guy damn near dies at ringside, let it go. You look at all the contributions Jerry Lawler has made in this business: from a work standpoint, a promo standpoint and then as a broadcaster. I think that's pushing the envelope in the wrong direction. There's better ways to go get real heat than that."

Chris Jericho: "I think it was pretty obvious, don't you? I kind of expected it. Punk's promo was awesome. It's wrestling so you knew it would end up as an angle sooner or later. I got the same complaints when I did the alcoholic angle (earlier this year with CM Punk). It would be like being mad at "Breaking Bad" because the dad was a drug addict or something. It's just a TV show, after all."

Lance Storm: "Thought it was poor. Both he and Punk are capable to get real heat, no need to sink so low. Also thought it was out of character for Punk so it hurt. Punk is about Best in World and himself. Why bother joking about heart attack it goes nowhere. Interruption was okay and in character. Fake heart attack was cheap and pointless."

Jericho on that political ish :heh:

Irvine's gonna Irvine :manny:

Anyway I think Jerry signed off on this. He seems like the type of person to make light of a situation just to make it better for him or whatever.

 @ "My ride's here." when the ambulance pulled up

I think it'd be hypocritical to be a fan of some of the wrestling I've seen and be completely outraged by the segment. So I'm not really tripping off that part of it. It was cheap, but obviously something Lawler ok'd. Somebody pointed out in the Raw thread how Cole was making fun of his mom the day after she passed, so he obviously gives no fukks.

The part I didn't really care for was the recap with the enhanced audio of him passing out and the cameras following him around while he was basically dead. :mindblown:

but yeah, it's just sad to see Company Man Chris these days. And then trying to make a comparison to his shytty ass feud with Punk. Nobody cared about that bullshyt.

Why would someone expect anything different from the E? The mock outrage is astounding. After all of the tasteless segments of the past they should know NOTHING is off limits in the E.

I stopped being offended by shyt like this on a wrestling show when I was a kid.

The way I see it, if Jerry Lawler's okay with it, so am I. It's a way to get heat.

Also, in the long run, the heel always gets his comeuppance. Well, theoretically anyway. And as long as that happens, everybody's happy.

lol this nowhere as bad as some of the things done before

they used eddie's death as an angle, as far as i'm concerned they'd have to work pretty hard to top that. if benoit's death didnt garner so much negative press best believe they'd spin it into somethin' too.

it's wrestling. :yeshrug:
