The movie was called Christine, it's on Netflix or at least it was. I'm not sure. Supposedly the station manager had the only copy and it's with some law firm to prevent it from releasing.

I think you're talking about Bud Dwyer. It was like a decade or so in between the 2 incidents. The politician happened in the 80s and the Chubbuck incident was in the early 70s.
