Album still smokes anything being put out today. 20 years later and ATLiens still sounds fresher than anything despite innovations in production and technology. From 1995-2000 I'm convinced Big and Dre's souls transcended Earth and broke through into another dimension. They blacked the fukk out
We're gonna look back 50 years and hold Outkast in the highest regard among musicians -- even more than we do today. They created such an unique sonic atmosphere that hasn't been able to be duplicated by anyone since. That really goes for anyone who had a hand in those albums: Organized Noize, Mr. DJ, all of the session musicians who came in to record, Goodie Mob, and the rest of Dungeon Family.
The Dungeon Family was simply ahead of its time, sonically.
Organized Noize and Earthtone III also had their fingerprints all over stuff put out by Eightball & MJG, Curits Mayfield, etc.
I always thought it was a huge mistake for Eightball & MJG to sign with Diddy back in the early 2000s. They should have linked up with the Dungeon. Sonically, they were more closely related to the Dungeon than they were with Bad Boy.
In Our Lifetime is one of my favorite Southern hip hop albums, primarily because Mr DJ took Ball & G to a new place, sonically.
And let's not forget this one:

Mavis Staples with the background vocals.
You know you've got to be legit if Curtis was reaching out for you to lend your talents on his shyt.
Damn, I wish we could get an Organized Noize-produced Mavis Staples album. shyt would problem shyt all over the game.
