I think he is idk what’s gotten into him
He's better off the bench. Some players are just like that. He was playing the best ball of his career last year off the bench then fell back off when he went back in the starting lineup. I remember as a kid hearing about Earvin Johnson(not Magic, the old Center for the Bucks) and he was more comfortable off the bench even though he was the #1 big on the team. Health, maturity, and usage(especially on defense) all are factors for his ascension, but the #1 factor in Hunter being that dude now is simply him coming off the bench

I think dre is flourishing because he has been encouraged to drive and lanes are opening up off the dribble due to the amount of movement we do now. Trae getting off the ball sooner. Dre gets involved in the pick n rolls, sometimes with Trae setting the screen.

It's hard to really cook when you camp in the corner all game waiting for the kick out like in years past. Hard to attack the closeout when the defender is using the sideline as a defender (from the corner).

Dre is shooting so many free throws because of this. Also, with Dyson he isn't expending all his energy chasing the opposing teams leading scorer.
