I know this is an old quote but I'm just curious of what yall thought.

"I don't respect people who don't proselytize. I don't respect that at all. If you believe that there's a heaven and hell and people could be going to hell or not getting eternal life or whatever, and you think that it's not really worth telling them this because it would make it socially awkward.... How much do you have to hate somebody to believe that everlasting life is possible and not tell them that?"

Nah, I think he's full of shyt. I can respect people who don't believe in what I believe in, and I hope they respect me the same. I don't need to be beat over the head with your beliefs.

He's saying he's an atheist that wants people from other religions to patronize him by trying to convert him. It's a backwards and back handed idea. He just wants to pick a fight.

I dunno.

From a strictly logical perspective, he's probably right. If you really, truly believe in heaven and hell then ethically you should be trying to save as many people as possible from eternal torment. That said, I don't want to be proselytized to and don't think many other people do either. :yeshrug:

This is of course ignoring the other ethical question of why a just god would want to torture people forever for 80 or so years of sins (or simply failing to think he exists), but that's off topic I guess.
