I don't think it was about emotions being controlled but channeled into several cohesive movements. Can someone tell me what the LA Riots accomplished exactly? Did it change the racism and police dynamics of the LAPD? Did it change the justice system?

No. All it did was bring destruction to mainly minority neighborhoods and businesses.

The nationwide peaceful protesting going on today will be a good example of that proper channeling if done right. We'll see.
