Mick Jenkins

Mick Jenkins is a hip-hop expressionist from Chicago who uses lyrics to channel old-school vibes and cook them up into a contemporary sound that resonates with his audience. Mastering cadence and culture, Jenkins delivers passion with every verse painting pictures and delivering a conscious message with his witty wordplay.

In April he released a Mixtape called Trees and Truths. The mixtape was by far Mick’s most lyrical body of work. It came from conversation he had with friends and members of the Free Nation (Free Nation is a collaborative group known for creating music without boundaries). The project generated a significant amount of buzz online. Now Mick is preparing for the release of his next tape called The Water(s) which will drop at the beginning of 2014.

Man I just started putting folks on to him. I thought I "discovered" a new dope artist but I see people already on him. His pen strong and I like the different image he got going on...doesn't look like the typical modern rap artist
