Lesnar: “I figured going to Japan would be a great experience. I’d pick up some excellent coin, eat some fresh sushi, and deliver a great big ‘screw you’ to Vince.”

Nakamura: “I felt like this was too much. I didn’t like his personality. This guy’s a heel to the core.”

In 2005, Brock Lesnar and Shinsuke Nakamura entered into a bitter rivalry over who would be Antonio Inoki’s next big star, and more importantly, the IWGP Heavyweight Championship. What ensued lead to Lesnar refusing to drop the belt and holding it hostage for over a year at his home in America until an unexpected Olympic hero stepped into the picture.

I see Brock punking every promoter he works with. :russ:

Inoki: Mr Lesnar, we clean belt for you. Make it nice and shiny.

Brock: No, I'm taking it to clean myself. :birdman:

Inoki: But Mr Lesnar, you can not leave with the belt.

"Goons start to line up"

Brock: I'm leaving and there's nothing you can do about it. :demonic:

Inoki: Yes Mr Lesnar, right away. We don't want no trouble. :whoa:

Another example like i said where the wwe has no idea of the narrative of their own grapplers. To make them able to draw. Another indicator of the wwe not knowing what they have nor wtf to do with it. When nakamura won the rumble. The narrative was for nakamura to take the strap off brock to close out this feud and close out the lesnar hostage angle. Instead we got a half baked neutered styles vs nakamura. Which in all actuality was a audible call finish of the first five minutes of their njpw encounter. Completely robbing the draw of all three grapplers at a luvotal time in wwe's change of direction for that time.

More inept idiocy from the wwe.
fukk this racist lame ass company.

Mr t should never have worked with you nikkaz.

That makes no sense. Also I read that wrestlers that come in allow inoki to slap them out of respect/tradition.... brock told him to go fukk himself and they still let him win the title
You're misunderstanding Japanese culture. Inoki had to slap all those other guys so the big gaijin could get the rub from refusing the slap, making Inoki larger than life.

No there was no rub involved. Never mind the gif posted. You're misunderstanding what I'm saying. Its tradition to slap them lesnar said no... he wrote about it in his autobiography. It wasn't a part of a show. Lesnar said "nobody is slapping me" and that was it. Had nothing to do with actual wrestling. It was more like a welcome to the business thing. And lesnar refused... and still went on to win their belt

But I should probably stop replying because you arent going to do your googles

“Part of that was luck. But that match was seriously rough. First, Lesnar was saying all this stuff about how he respected New Japan, but it felt to me like that was just for show, that he didn’t really respect the promotion. Like, somewhere, he was looking down on Japanese people. I lost the match, and that was the first time I cried at pro wrestling after a match.

“It was the main event at Tokyo Dome. This was a pretty hallowed stage, and I knew I hadn’t fought the way I imagined I would. And there was, like, this temperature difference between me and Lesnar. I didn’t get the sense he had any love for pro wrestling. It felt like he was just doing his job.”

“I felt like this was too much; he was seriously scoffing at us. Lesnar won the championship and took the belt home, I told Simon [Inoki] if the company didn’t get it’s shyt in order, that belt was definitely going to get nicked. I didn’t honestly believe that when we fought. But it ended up just like I feared. He has the physical stuff, plus a straightforward strength and a certain amount of flexibility, so there was a bit of the monster to him. But I didn’t like his personality, you know? He might have made a real mark in UFC, but he didn’t even seem to notice the audience booing. I was like, ‘Oh, this guy’s a heel to the core.'”
