Thinking bout the Dubs and how I always liked them the past few years. Steph and Klay were fun to watch, fun team to root for and all that. Last year they came out of nowhere (kind of), Draymond was the storybook underdog story, they made old heads mad with how they played and Steph was a 'likeable' star with the fine (:shaq:), seeming wholesome wife and cute daughter. Now this year real talk I'm on some 'I'm tired of seeing these nikkas' stuff. Don't dislike them or anything but now that they're on top its not that fun to root for them and part of me wants them to lose. I THINK its because sports are more interesting when there isn't a foregone conclusion and especially in the NBA where the best team almost always wins its kind of boring when everyone's playing for 2nd.

But do movies/media and all that condition us to be prone to hateration? All the movies about underdogs and the stories about the overlooked. The best team is almost never the 'good guys' unless that team is being discriminated against. :yeshrug:

I'm prepared for the Dub fan negs :demonic:

yes...because Im seeing they're about to list Curry as a top 25 player ever after basically a year and half of superstar play...and the overexposure/cysage is about to make the Warriors hated. That's how it always works.

couple weeks back, NBA.com posted a video collage of Steph's 38 point game vs the pistons...except the Pistons blew them nikkas out and there was no mention of it..so everybody in the comments was pullin out them pitchforks.

If you're passionate about anything it only makes sense to love and hate. I can't fathom loving and supporting a team while never hating or disliking any other team. As a sports fan, what's the point? You want to be emotionally invested in games and the only way to do that is by either liking or disliking whatever you're watching.

It's why the Heat were fun to watch, not just because of the players, but because most people either liked or hated them so you had an investment in their games and the outcome.

Maybe a lil. I think it's more that a good villain always garners more attention than the generic good guy. The warriors were the good guy who was happy go lucky till it looked like lebron was going to 3-0 them single handedly in the finals last year. They made the adjustments in game 4. Bron ran out of steam and GS won the chip.

This year they've had a chip on their shoulders because of how everyone tried to discredit their win last year. Kinda turned heel on us. Steph wife made that innocent comment that came off negatively to alot of women. They out here cooking teams and it's huge ratings because now the public wants to see if they can stay on this legendary pace. Plus they're still fun too watch. The best villains tell the truth and then back it up. They just haven't fully embraced it yet in the Mayweather vein but we're getting there. It's why he's money.
