Clip is taken from the first episode of the Ken Burns series about Jazz music. I watched it when it aired, and reviewed it during a jazz related debate here a few weeks back.

Freddie Keppard turned down the chance to be the first musician to record jazz on wax, and white musicians swooped in. That wasn't enough, though. Leader of the white band made the claim that whites invented jazz music.

Most artists who came after them, were inspired by or copied Michael Jackson and James Brown . I was shocked by the BLATANT biting by these artists, though. They didn't even try to hide the fact that they were white bootleg versions.
