Part of why they do it, besides being inept about government and narrow minded over some culture war issue like gay marriage or something, is because they have an impression in their mind--likely beginning from their homes and childhood--that tells them that sharing more in common with white people makes you smarter, more intellectual, more distinguished. Being agreeable to other black people makes you "brainwashed", dumb and low class.
The very premise of these conservative free thinkers is based on a loathing opinion of black people as a whole. As being incapable of having a politics of their own, deciphering political messaging and propaganda on our own, and making our own voting choices as individuals and a collective. These people seem tk believe that until we can be passive, agreeable, and politically unthreatening to whites, then you are ignorant and "not open to other viewpoints."
