Are There Any Other Instances Of A Champ Getting Robbed The Way Jermell Charlo Did?

We know how boxing works, Its biased and can be downright shady. The one constant that usually stands true is that the Champ usually gets the benefit of the doubt. Even when the Champ loses, if he wasn't thoroughly dominated the Champ will almost always get the decision in his favor. We just saw it with Wilder. But strangely enough they didnt follow that template with Charlo, who i thought won the fight. Harrison worked his jab nicely and controlled rounds 3-5 but Jermell stepped up the pressure after that and dominated the last 3 rounds. I just don't see what the judges even saw to want to strip a Champ who was clearly controlling the fight, an undefeated one no less

Are there any other examples of this?

I didn't feel like it was some type of scoring that needs to be investigated or anything....i felt Charlo won 7-5. Hell i was looking at it as a draw. He wasn't dominanting at any point nor did I feel at any point that Harrison was out of the fight.

Hell big Charlo got a gift last night if you ask alot of folks :sas1:

He almost dropped Harrison in the 10th and 11th. He won by a comfortable margin. They snatched this nikkas 0 away for no reason

I feel some of the conspiracy theories some threw out in the thread. Fox needs buzz for this new platform and wanted the casuals to know the unpredictability factor/ janky scorecards is still alive and well in boxing.

Little Charlo was essentially a sacrificial lamb because there’s more fights and ultimately money in big Bro having potential fights with the 4-5 top MWs whereas Jermell’s only money fight at 154 is with Hurd. Mell actually is talented and still has a lot potential. Needs to switch up his game plan looking for head hunting Knock Outs, cause though I feel he’s more skilled than Jermall , he doesn’t have power quite like his big bro.

Harrison fought a smart ass fight though I thought like most that he Lost. He looks like he will have short, transitional reign in either a rematch or A Hurd unification bout. Also saw Spence Throw his hat in moving up against him. We’ll see but other than draws, this is one of the more surprising decisions in recent years for sure .

Think you've got that backwards my dude. Jermall is definitely more skilled. With better combinations, handspeed and defense. But Jermell has more power and has always been the power hitter..even though Jermall can bang too he's kept on evolving and is naturally bigger. I do agree that Jermell needs to diversify his fight game a bit more though.

Nah I think Jermell actually is better at more facets than Mall. His defense and movement though he was getting tagged impressed me. Jermall strikes me kind of like a a MW Wilder :whoa: he’s obviously got much better technique than Deontay, but Kinda one trick pony with the power punch looking for KOs. Maybe Kerbov just made him look foolish got me in the moment but I was more impressed with Little Charlo Saturday a few other cards they were on together

I think you got the brothers mixed up, Jermall was the one that was thought of as the heavy hitter of the two, when Mell scored those KOs over Jackson, Hatley, and Lubin everyone was wondering where the hell the newfound KO power came from. Just look at the KO ratios of the two.

Yeah, when the other guy is signed to the same promoter or the us based boxing industry has something to gain.

It wasn't a robbery...

Harrison winning might have been a bad decision but it's not like a draw would be out of touch w reality
I had both twins on some 115-113 wins on first watches, I might rewatch them now

Personally I don't believe the conteos about Fox rigging the cards, scorecard fukkery is still rather a bad look than good.

Jermall is a much more well rounded boxer. Jermell headhunts. Jermall has quicker hands, has a better jab, fights better on the inside and counters much better. Just because he has a higher knockout ratio doesn't he relies on his power. He gets guys outta there. But Jermell clearly is more dependant on his power
