Real talk. With social media it's all about appearing to be better than other people, upping someone else (flex on your ex), getting attention, etc.
I have yet to see a movie where teens and young adults are on their phones a lot painting a false reality of their lives on the internet.
I'm not even saying a movie that's sole story line is looking how technology has affected society and human interaction both positively and negatively, just having it being a component in character's lives.
Like a couple weeks ago I watched a movie called Kicks which I'm sure the movie took place in present day. But the characters rarely if at all had phones in their hands, and I don't think any social media was mentioned.
