YES, they are making bank, so financially they're good but from a creative point of view, have Robert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth and Chris Evans been doomed by the success of the MCU?
The reason I ask is I was flicking through the TV and saw a film called 'Gifted' which had Chris Evans in it. Didn't watch more than 10 minutes but my initial reaction upon seeing him was pretty much shock. Like, "this guy actually does movies outside the MCU? " which is an absurd notion to have because, I mean, he's an actor so of course he does.
But in the little I watched I just couldn't take my mind off the fact that this was Captain America in a drama movie. It just took me out of the film and giving it some more thought, I haven't really seen RDJ or Hemsworth in any other films the last few years and I imagine that if I did, I would have a similar feeling.
So my question basically is, do you think that this is the peak for these dudes in terms of career success? And once their time in the MCU ends, do you still back them to get good roles and pull in decent numbers?
