Are grenades that hard to come by?

The number of illegal guns on the streets is outrageous, and shootings are pretty much an everyday thing. I don't hear about supplies of grenades getting confiscated or nikkas hitting the opps spot with any of them joints.

I remember Avon had some in the stash when they were about to set it off on Marlo right before he got jammed up

Yes, you can find a grenade for sale or get clearance to import them, file the paperwork and pay the $200 tax per grenade and meet the proper storage and usage requirements for them.

Not illegal at all. but yes very, very difficult. They are classified as destructive devices. So you have to jump through many many hoops. Nobody is gonna go through all that just to use it in some crime.

I see people on youtube like demolition ranch with grenades and even tanks just blowing shyt up for fun

If you into airsoft they sell pretty legit smoke bombs and flashbangs at this site. I imagine you could also use them in a home defense scenario pretty effectively too.
